Into (and out of) the Woods
Katy Wood is a fellow Arts Magnet alum who just completed her first year studying photography at MICA. Katy's digital work is what originally caught my eye, documenting her close friends in bright color with smears of light. Her photography has a beautiful innocent, feminine and thoughtful quality that I don't seem to find in the work of many young photographers today. So when she sent along these haunting black and whites, it became apparent that her talent is extremely versatile. Katy, the second you get a site up you better let me know!

In the City
Jessye Herrell is a close friend of mine living and free lancing in NYC. She's the one who taught me the importance of light, and we've spent many hours drooling over Irving Penn's still lifes together. She studied film and photography at Emerson College, and is ready for hire. Check out more of her work here, and read her blog here.

She came in through the bathroom window
Daryl Meador is currently a visual critical studies major at SAIC. I remembered her photo work from back in high school and was happy to hear she is still photographing. For her recent 4X5 class Daryl has been exploring people's bathrooms and documenting herself within them.

I'm Sleeping with Everyone I Know.
Next up from photographers I know is Annick Thomas, Annick is a Franco American and recent RISD grad. Her post college plans include a one way ticket to London, where she'll be throwing darts at maps and only fate and food will decide where she'll settle down come September. Above are pieces from her "I'm Sleeping with Everyone I Know" series, all shot on Kodachrome on her Hassleblade. Check out more of her work on TRASH D'ANNICK.

When I'm with you, we're alone
“When I’m with you, we’re alone” is a series I started actively working on once I began compiling my work from the past four years and found a distinct sense of loneliness within some of the images of my very close friends. This series explores feelings of alienation or isolation within social circles and settings, either experienced by the subject or myself.
