New Apartment Inspirations

Moving to Beacon Hill in one month means I get to decorate an entire apartment with my roomie. This summer I've made a collection of small things that are inspiring the style, look and feel that I want my new place to have. Midwestern and southern flair mixed with east coast simplicity.

on the road again

The Cadillac Ranch was built in 1974 by Stanley Marsh. Located on I-40, or what use to be Route 66, it is made up of 10 Cadi's in a row, all angled due west, with the same degree as the Cheops Pryamids. Pretty sweet.

500 Days of Summer

As cheesy and dumb this movie looks, I'm pretty sure I'm going to see it opening night. The last movie I saw Joseph Gorden-Levitt in was Mysterious Skin, so it will be nice to see his face in a less emotionally disturbing movie.

Silver Pines

The band Silver Pines, on tour in the north east with Secret Land Time Machine came last night to play a house show in Allston. My brother plays bass for Silver Pines and they have a tour blog and you can listen to their music, here. Check out a few more of my shots on flickr.

Avacado and Lime

I made some damn good guacamole this week. You should do the same. It's all about the lime, so open your windows, play some music and celebrate the last (official days) of spring.

Summer Collections

Style that I want to be able to pull off/sometimes try. Except, I could never rock a one piece like that one woman, and every time I attempt to tie a scarf in my hair I somehow mess it up. High tops and cut offs? Perfect. These images come from Facehunter and The Sartorialist.

Summer Sleep

by Irving Penn. I became a fan looking through his still lifes of skulls, plums and egg whites. But when I learned he shot the original Clinique Ads, I was sold. It's those advertisments, tucked away in a file folder in my closet that made me want to study marketing.
